Yinan Du is an animation director, artist, and educator whose work explores obscure bodily existence, national tension, marginalized communities, education systems, and folklore. Drawing from mythology, folklores, and historical remnants, she crafts fierce, visceral narratives that rethink the past and construct analogies for the present. Her films have screened internationally at institutions and festivals including the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and Shanghai Pride Festival. She is a Barbara Hammer Queer Grant Finalist, and her work has been featured by outlets including VoyageLA.

Yinan holds an MFA in Experimental Animation from the California Institute of the Arts and a BFA from Duke University. Her practice embraces rupture and resistance, working across filmmaking, teaching, independent animation mentorship, commissions, and graffiti.
