Magdalena Pawlowski is a painter and printmaker, originally from Nantucket, MA, and currently enrolled in University of Connecticut’s M.F.A. program. Utilizing traditional materials, like etching and egg tempera, Pawlowski’s work weaves together personal narratives with archetypal symbols in eastern European folklore, while attempting to create metaphoric shields of resilience. She received her B.F.A. in 2014 from the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, CT and studied from 2009-2011 at the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, DC.
