Public Printing

  • Mac OS users should follow these instructions to add the Art & Art History department’s public printer as an option

    1. Make sure you are connected to “UCONN-SECURE” for wireless
    2. Download and Install Xerox WorkCentre 7845 print drivers
    3. Run the Xerox Print Driver .pkg install

    4. In the step to select a printer, first click the “IP address or DNS” button to the right of the screen. You should now see the option to input the printer’s IP address.

    5. Enter the IP address for the printer you need: the Art Building printer is 10.16.48.54 and the Bishop Center printer is 10.16.93.55. The installer will recognize the printer and you can select “Continue.”

    6. You can de-select the options to ‘Set Printer as Default’ and ‘Print Test Page’

    7. Once you have successfully installed the printer it will appear in Printers & Scanners

    Once you have added the printer as an option you can send jobs to it.

  • Windows users should follow these instructions to add the Art & Art History department’s public printer as an option

    1. Make sure you are connected to “UCONN-SECURE” for wireless
    2. Download and install Xerox PCL6 Drivers for Windows : 32-bit, 64-bit
    3. Run the Xerox PCL6 Driver Setup
    4. Select to add the ‘Add a network, wireless, or Bluetooth printer’ option

    1. Click ‘The printer that I want isn’t listed’

    1. Choose to add printer using TCP/IP address

    1. Enter one of the following IP addresses: 10.16.48.54 for the printer in the Art Building or 10.16.93.55 for the printer in the Bishop Center

    1. Select Xerox WorkCentre 7845 PCL6

    Once you have added the printer as an option you can send jobs to it.

  • Once you have added the public printer as an option to your Mac or Windows machine you can send jobs to it.

    1. At the Xerox WorkCentre, check the ‘Job Status’ menu. (If the machine has a blank screen, press the green Energy Saver button to wake it up)
    2. Note the ‘Held Print Jobs’ on the touch-screen interface. Find the folder name that corresponds to your user name.
    3. Press your folder name then press the job that you submitted.
    4. From the pop-up menu for each job select ‘Release’
    5. When the machine prompts, swipe your UConn ID on the gray cbord card reader.
    6. Once you are done with your printing be sure to press DONE on the card reader.
