The Department of Art and Art History is equipped with a wide range of facilities, including painting and drawing studios; darkrooms and a digital imaging lab; printmaking and book arts; wood, metal, and ceramics studios; a digital video studio and editing stations; digital graphic design stations; and much more. As a result, students pursue their art wherever their creativity leads them.
We’re in the process of establishing a new Digital Arts Materials Lab that includes equipment for 3D Printing and a CNC router.
In the Spring Semester 2014 we opened a new Center for Communication Design, Illustration, and 2D Animation that includes a large teaching studio, 2D and stop-motion animation labs, flex space for student studios and classroom breakout groups, faculty offices, and a student lounge with data ports and workspace. We also opened a new studio for installation and performance work, equipped with state-of-the-art audio and projection equipment.
